🌞Free embroidery pattern + new project!

I’ve got a new project idea - Let’s create it together!
I thrifted this yellow linen sun dress about a year ago and never wear it - I love the color but it feels a bit blah on its own. Recently, it hit me - the dress is literally the perfect blank canvas to cover in fun embroideries before summer. And then, even better idea, it would be so fun to somehow make it collaborative!
So, here’s the plan:
Every Thursday I’ll send you that weeks embroidery pattern
Every Friday I’ll post a reel/tiktok sharing exactly what stitches + methods I used and how to do them
Comment each week to choose the next pattern!
This week I wanted to start really simple. Only two stitches were used - it was actually a great exercise in getting back to the basics - I’m honestly a bit rusty!
Here is the pattern:

I’ll share what stitches I used - but feel free to have a play and do whatever you want!
Instructions:
Each week I’ll try out a different design transfer method - this week I just used my iPad as a light box and traced the design in blue color pencil. However, I will say (as you will see in the video) this method leads to the most human error. My sun definitely did not turn out nearly as neat as the pattern! Personally, I don’t mind it when the final product evolves. I’m not going for perfection, I want us to enjoy the process!
Split stitch outline using 4 strands of stranded cotton embroidery floss
For skinnier rays - I used machine thread and a basic back stitch to attach beads and sequins

Nothing fancy this week - I want to slowly scale up and try out different techniques so we can all learn new things together!
